Creating a Community that Cares
I have been at this College for 21 years and over that time I have seen many changes. I have seen how our College Board has afforded us the opportunity to create positions and appoint staff, squarely aimed at supporting the children and families of Brisbane Christian College. I have no doubt in my mind that for the staff of this College, and for the vast majority of families, there is a strong desire to care for those people that God has entrusted to us: your children.
I am fortunate to be working alongside dedicated Heads of Houses and Heads of Years, who consistently formulate methods and processes that support our children. Their commitment has also impacted many of our students who have taken up roles as Student Ambassadors, BRIDGE BUILDER® Mediators, and various positions of leadership with care and concern for their peers as the centrepiece of what they do.
The other part of this equation is our families, who I find to be encouraging and supportive of our dedicated staff, which propels us to be always considering ways of supporting our children. This is also clearly evident through the great work of our Chaplains and the wonderful efforts of our Student Enrichment Services team. I thank all of these people dearly for their God-directed involvement. I believe that the framework that we have prayed about and sought God’s leadership in, is effective and is a testament to the way in which this College intentionally nurtures our children.
