Managing Family Stress Smarter

The impact of stress at both a personal and family level affects us all. As Peter Janetzki demonstrated through the Stress Quick Quiz, stress is characteristic of being alive. The concern of parents to manage family stress was reflected in the large number of registrations for this parent event. The evening was deeply appreciated by all the attendees. Peter’s presentation style, combined with his professional expertise and lived wisdom, ensured that everyone left feeling encouraged and challenged. A key word which I took away was ‘balance’.

Putting theory into practice, Peter presented a number of tips for ‘staying balanced’:

Set boundaries and stick to them

Peter closed with Prayer for Serenity by Reinhold Niebuhr. The opening words are familiar, but the remainder of the prayer is both comforting and challenging. I commend this prayer to you for your consideration and reflection.
