Our New College Pastor
It is with great enthusiasm that I endorse the appointment of Saskia Hill as our College Pastor, and Kym Lam Sam as our newest College Chaplain. I am confident that Saskia and our Chaplaincy team will continue to build on the effective ministry that has been established in our College. The College Pastor is a significant role across the life of our College and Church and Saskia has proven herself as an incredible minister and leader both at Life Church and Brisbane Christian College. I ask that you join us in praying for Saskia and our Chaplaincy team as they minister to our students and families.
Pastor Geoff Blight
Life Church, Lead Pastor
I am incredibly excited about the exciting new appointments within our College Pastor and Chaplain roles. Having been in the College Pastor role previously and having worked alongside Saskia for over a year, I am confident that the College Pastor role has never been in a better set of hands! Saskia is an exceptional minister and leader, and there is no doubt in my mind that she will continue to lead our Chaplaincy team forward with much fruitfulness.
Kym’s appointment is also very exciting for our College! When Kym first joined our youth ministry team, it did not take long to see what a blessing he would be to our youth team and students. Kym brings to the team a fun and approachable pastoral heart, with bucket loads of wonderful and creative ideas – I know that it will not take long for the College community to warm to this great man! Kym will be working four days a week on the Middle and Secondary campus.
Our Chaplaincy team is growing and we ask for you to join us in believing for God to continue to use this team to effectively minister to all our students.
I am honoured and excited to be part of this incredible team and under such anointed leadership. I pray that this appointment creates opportunities for our children to encounter God in powerful new ways.
Kym Lam Sam
We have an amazing team! Chaplain Fiona at Primary School is so gifted in her love and communication with our students and always goes above and beyond in everything she does. Chaplain Joel at Middle and Secondary School who stepped into Chaplaincy this year, has built some great connections especially with our boys, and I’m really looking forward to Chaplain Kym joining our team. I know it will bring a new layer of love and support to our students.
I would like to thank our Lead Pastors Geoff and Lee and our College Principal and Board for their passion to empower our students to lead in every area of life, and for creating opportunities for our children to have a personal encounter with Jesus.

Our Chaplains provide a listening ear, caring presence, and a message of hope. They care for all students and offer support spiritually and emotionally as needed – as well as being responsible for our School Chapel services, where our students get to hear from a range of dynamic speakers every week.
The Chaplaincy team are highly involved in programs and voluntary spiritual groups that students participate in including prayer groups, guys and girls devotional groups and adapted programs such as the ‘Shine’ and ‘Strength’ programs.
Our Chaplains work very closely with our two on-campus, qualified counsellors. The provision of counselling is an important aspect of Pastoral Care within the College. When the need arises, students are supported through situations like transitions, peer and friendship issues, social-emotional concerns, or grief and loss situations. The counselling process enables the concern to be shared in a safe and supportive setting. It also allows the concern to be viewed from another perspective, thus allowing reflection and change to take place.
