Middle & Secondary – Term 3 Week 1 (2020)
Middle and Secondary School Photo Day - Thursday, 30 July
Middle and Secondary School photos will be taken on Thursday 30 July. Similar to Primary photo day, the photographers have introduced precautions that reduce waiting in lines and prevent adults and children being in close proximity with others. For group photos, each student will be photographed individually, with the group created digitally as a composite. All children are to wear full school uniforms. The attached image from the photographers further outline the changes in format.
College Cross Country - Thursday, 13 August
Our annual College Cross Country has been re-scheduled for Thursday, 13 August for all of our students from Prep through to Year 12.
The Cross County will take place at our Middle and Secondary Campus. Primary School children will be bused from the Primary Campus on the College buses and will return as their events finish (a program will be available soon once times have been confirmed). Please ensure that your child goes to their class first so that all children are accounted for that day. Middle and Secondary School students will meet in their House meeting areas before proceeding to the Oval.
Due to current social distancing guidelines, parents will be unable to attend this event, however photo and video highlights will be available to help celebrate moments throughout the day for parents.
Term 3 Reports
Our teams are committed to providing complete and accurate reporting for our Term 2 and Semester 1 reports. To accommodate the nature of learning over this period and to allow our teams time to complete evaluation of work, the Brisbane Christian College Semester 1 reports will be published on Tuesday, 4 August (Term 3 Week 3).
Brisbane City Council Visiting Schools
Brisbane City Council has addressed a letter to all College families regarding their commitment to pedestrian and child safety around schools. Over the next school term, Council officers will be conducting patrols around the College to ensure safe parking. Parking fines may be issued in cases where illegal parking is observed. Click Here to read the full letter.
Brisbane Christian College will continue with daily temperature checks at health stations and on school buses each morning, particularly through this winter season. All children or staff with cold or flu symptoms or a temperature over 37.5 degrees will be immediately sent home. If your child is unwell or has a high temperature, please keep them home.
Volunteers on Campus
We love having parent involvement in the College and in Term 3 we will start to have volunteers back to support our teachers and children. To keep our community safe, we have introduced some new volunteer procedures for any parents volunteering on campus. We thank all our volunteers for supporting the College and students and for following these guidelines throughout this season.

Term 3 change to the Brisbane City Council 840 bus service
Transport for Brisbane wishes to advise that there will be a change to school bus services as of Monday, 13 July 2020. The change affects route 840 in the morning.
The Brisbane City Council 840 bus service will be realigned and no longer commence on Camden Road due to a commercial construction site that requires the stop to be removed (no passengers are boarding here). This 840 service will now commence on Gooderham Road approaching Brookbent Avenue in Pallara, scheduled around the same time it currently passes this stop (currently the third stop on the route). After completing the loop around Pallara the bus will travel back via Gooderham Road, turn right on to Learoyd Road, then continue its normal route.
