Middle & Secondary – Term 4 Week 1 (2020)

CSSAQ Basketball

The CSSAQ Basketball competition is being held this Friday, 9 October at Coomera Indoor Sports Complex from 8.30am–4.00pm. The bus will depart the Middle and Secondary Campus at 6.45am and return by 5.00pm. For any further question please contact Mr Michael Baumgartner via mbaumgartner@brisbanechristiancollege.com.au.

Sports Team Photos

The senior sports team and group photos that were postponed last term will now take place on Tuesday, 13 October from 3.15pm–5.00pm. CLICK here to access the schedule to see when your photo will be taken. Please ensure you are at the Theatre at least five minutes before the scheduled time of the photo. Junior & Intermediate Volleyball Schools Cup

Six teams have entered the Junior and Intermediate Volleyball Schools Cup which is being held on the Gold Coast (venues for the teams still to be released) from Friday, 16 October to Sunday, 18 October. Netball Super 7's

We have three teams entered into the Netball Super 7’s on Monday, 19 October at Wembley Park, Coorparoo from 8.30am–2.30pm. Buses will be departing from the Middle and Secondary Campus at 7.30am and will be returning at 3.00pm. Year 10 Adventure Camp

Our Year 10 Adventure Camp will be held at Girraween National Park near Stanthorpe from Monday, 19 October until Wednesday, 21 October. The camp requires an early start of 6.00am for a four-hour bus trip to Girraween National Park. We return to the College by 3.30pm on Wednesday.

Students will camp in tents, cook their own food, hike in groups and participate in a variety of other group-building activities which provides students with the opportunity to explore surroundings, link spiritual maturity with challenging activity, build self-discipline and resilience and to build group awareness and consideration for others.

Please provide permission for the Adventure Camp by reading the Terms and Conditions document in the TASS Parent Lounge and accepting the tour. Should you have any questions then feel free to contact Mrs Christine Thomas via cthomas@brisbanechristiancollege.com.au.

ZTennis

Discover the champion in you at ZTennis Clinic.

Term 4 enrolments for Tennis Lessons are now open for Primary & Middle School students.

All tennis sessions will be offered in the form of a SEVEN-WEEK Term Block, plus an opportunity for a make-up lesson due to any weather issues. Lessons begin Term 4 Week 2.

Griffith University- Year 12 Early Offer Guarantee

Early offers to university through Griffith University are now available. This would be an ideal way to secure entry into university before the finish of Year 12!

Griffith University has introduced early offers to study based on Semester 1 results or VET qualifications.

These offers are open to current Year 12 students in Queensland and northern New South Wales undertaking the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBD) or the Higher School Certificate (HSC).

Eligible students simply need to apply to QTAC by 31 October to receive an early offer to Griffith by 20 November.

Health Stations

Brisbane Christian College will continue with daily temperature checks at health stations and on school buses each morning. All children or staff with cold or flu symptoms or a temperature over 37.5 degrees will be immediately sent home. If your child is unwell or has a high temperature, please keep them home.
