Praise be to God! The Lord is always faithful
Throughout 2018 we have continued to walk in the truth and power of 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
This was one of the clear scriptures that Jesus gave me back in October 2010 before I started as Principal of our community in January 2011. Our Lord made it very clear to us that we had a choice to make—would we as one community humble ourselves before the Lord, bring our hearts and actions under HIS Lordship and direction, and would we repent and allow Jesus to become more and for us to become less?
The Lord has been building a prayerful community across our Church, parent body, children and ministry team: prayer that directs us to seek the Lord’s face and will, prayer that allows the Holy Spirit to lead us to repentance, prayer that receives the Lord’s forgiveness and power to overcome, and prayer that aligns us with the healing power of our Lord and Saviour.
I would like to thank every Life Church and ministry team member, College parent and every child for interceding on Lord’s behalf over the last eight years. Your prayers have been powerful and effective. As a team we are continually challenged and encouraged to not lean on our own understanding, that when we are weak and turn to Jesus we have unmeasurable power available to us through the Holy Spirit. We yearn to truly be in word, action and deed a Christ- centred community shining Christ’s love, forgiveness and hope to our children and families.
During the last month of Term 3 this year the Lord’s healing hand and prayerful direction was so evident as we had three team members who faced life-threatening challenges that could have ended in death. Our community gathered around these families first in prayer and then in practical love. We praise Jesus Christ for HIS protection and supernatural healings of these team members.
Our 2018 Graduates headed by Shienne, Jason, Kahrie, Esther, Paris, Kristen and Jesse have led our community with dignity, love and passion. You have taken our College to new heights and left a strong legacy for our 2019 Seniors to build upon. Your heart and sound every day across our campuses have made us stronger and richer. I urge you to stay in touch and share with us your successes as the Lord continues to lead you into HIS good and perfect will. You will always be part of the Brisbane Christian College community.
To our Year 12 parents—thank for trusting your children’s journey to our team, thank you for praying for our team, thank you for your encouragement and support, for some over thirteen years.
My closing prayer for our community and graduating families is that we live out Proverbs 3:5-6 in our lives: In all your ways acknowledge Jesus Christ, and Jesus shall direct your paths. Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not on your own understanding. Let us live our lives together for HIS glory,
Mr Sean Morrison
