This year’s ICAS tests will be taking place across three weeks in August, which commenced last week.

Primary Athletic Carnival

The 2020 Primary Athletics Carnival will be held next week on Monday, 31 August. What an amazing opportunity for your child to celebrate positive sporting excellence and to support their House in what will be a fantastic day! Please note the following details for this event:

Venue: Middle and Secondary Campus, 63 Fairlie Terrace, Salisbury.

Program: TBA

Clothing: Students must wear their House shirt and appropriate footwear throughout the day (no spikes). Students must carry their hats with them to each event and apply sunscreen each hour.

Food and water: Each child needs to pack enough food and water for the day. The Prep to Year 2 students will return to the Primary School Campus at lunchtime. There is a water bubbler on the oval to refill water bottles and we will provide some iced water containers near the First Aid tent.

800m race: This will be the first event of the day for the 9 to 11 year olds. There will be enough time for this age group before their next races to allow for adequate rest.

Transport: Buses will be departing the Primary School Campus from 8.45am onwards. Every child will be marked off the roll by their teacher before getting onto a bus. If your child is late, they must sign their child in and drop them at the Middle and Secondary Campus sporting oval.

Awards: Age Champion will be awarded to our inter-school competitive age groups (9 years to 11 years). The top placed students in each event from these age groups may be called up to represent our College in the CSSAQ Athletics Championship, if it is still to be held this year. Place ribbons will be presented to runners during the carnival. Age Champions will be announced and will receive their certificate on the day. They will then receive their medallion at a later date. Our hope is to be able to present the winning House with their trophy by the end of the day.

Parents: Unfortunately due to COVID-19 restrictions we are unable to welcome our wonderful parents as we normally would. We will be taking photos and videos to share this event with you all as much as we can.

Thank you for your support,

Mr Samuel Johnston
Primary PE/Co-curricular Coordinator
