Book Week, Book Fair and Costume Parade!

Our Book Week theme this year is ‘Curious Minds’. We are focusing on encouraging creativity, enquiring in learning and an interest in both fiction and non-fiction books. Book Week will run from Monday, 14 September to Friday, 18 September at the Primary School Campus.

This term as we celebrate “all things books” for Book Week, we have many exciting opportunities for our children to develop their life-long love of books.

Our annual Reading Competition is underway and will run until Friday, 11 September 2020. Pizza party prizes will be awarded to winning classes in each of Lower, Middle and Upper Primary. (Special dietary needs will be considered.)

Our online Book Fair is live! We are excited at the range of classic and Christian literature that will be available through our supplier. Every order from our virtual book fair could win you $100 in free books! Not only that but you’ll also help raise vital funds for our College Library. There is a huge range of books for everyone, so head on over to www.onlinebookfair.com.au to check out all the amazing books on offer. You can purchase through the online store and the books will be delivered straight to your home address. Thank you for supporting Brisbane Christian College in this fundraiser.

The Costume Parade is set for the last day of Term 3 on Friday, 18 September 2020. We encourage you to help your child create a costume that is improvised from items that you have on hand. Our judges will be looking for creativity!

We are not expecting anyone to spend money on new costumes and we hope that children can participate in this event in a spirit of fun and mutual enjoyment without focusing on being competitive.

Sadly, we are unable to have parents, caregivers or friends on campus this year for our Costume Parade but be assured that we will post as many photos as possible!

We are looking forward to encouraging your children to participate in these and other activities, as we seek to promote an enjoyment and passion for learning and reading.
